Recording the FIVP Podcast today!

12/01/2026

So the "Practice Matters" podcast from the Federation of Independent Veterinary Practices is well respected in the veterinary industry, so being asked by a fellow podcast to appear on their show was a nice surprise - Thanks Ian.

This will be recorded today but Im unsure when the official release date is yet.  I will keep you posted however so you'll have to keep reading this blog.  The Not a Vet Team have already advised me that i should do some "prep" but like our own podcast i prefer things to be more off the cuff, keeps it genuine right? - that's my theory any way.

People have already commented that the first two episodes were very "raw" but that was always the idea for us, real people not staged and unedited - not been blacklisted by Spotify or whatever yet so must be ok... for now.

Finally booked in a date to go and visit Aaron from Sore Paws too - hes the husband and business partner of Sarah from the first two episodes so that should be interesting as hes "Not a Vet" - see what i did there? - cannot wait to speak with him and see the husband not from the industry perspective.

21st of January is our next release. This is all about James Weston ( again not a vet ) and his life of growing up with a legendary vet father and how he made is from car parts to running a super successful referral centre - its a great story full of ups and downs and again sheer determination -  this ones classified as another raw podcast, thanks James.

Diary is fill up pretty quick for 2026 so drop us a message if you want to appear, everyone is welcome honestly.

On another not the " Voice Message" section on the website is getting a pretty good response. In case you have seen it go take a look on the websites main page, you can simply click a button an leave us a audio recording right there and then. Its like a posh answering machine where we don't have to answer - well we cant actually.  Some "interesting" messages left on there for us, we did laugh a lot as not all of them were questions to make a podcast from, in fact some of them i cannot even repeat. I know I should have made it where it was compulsory to leave a name or an email address, but wheres the fun in that?

Again thanks to all our listeners, we have now broke the 100 mark and while that doesn't sound a lot compared to Steve Bartlett's Diary of a CEO we are very happy indeed.
