Glad 2025 is over? Same here

As 2025 comes to a close, I can honestly say this has been the toughest professional year I've ever faced. Real challenges that pushed every limit and tested resilience in ways I didn't expect.

But the overwhelming positivity that carried me through came from three places: my incredible team, who supported me every single day, the wider vet community, oh and of course my family., whose advice, encouragement, and solidarity made all the difference.

In the middle of it all, I needed a distraction – something creative to channel energy into. That distraction grew into a passion project, and on December 24th we launched The "Not a Vet" podcast – honest conversations from the supplier side of the veterinary industry. Not pretending to be a vet, just 25+ years of perspective on the highs, the lows, ethics, innovation, and the topics that matter most.

This podcast is my way of giving back to the vet community that has given me so much this year – sharing insights, amplifying voices, and building a space for open, valuable dialogue. A huge thank you to my amazing podcast team Ellie Vickers Ben Griggs Julia Beale Neil Waring and everyone in the community who contributed ideas, appeared as guests, or offered support along the way. This wouldn't exist without you, especially you Paula Davies
